Hephzibah, GA—Funeral Service and Celebration of Life for Minister Larry Eugene Williams, MSgt., USA, Ret., 64, who entered into rest July 20, 2022, will be conducted Saturday morning, July 30, 2022, at 11 o’clock in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with full veteran honors. The family will receive friends Friday evening, July 29, 2022, at Posey Funeral Directors from 5 until 7. We encourage those attending to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced. Minister Williams was a native of Savannah, GA, a former resident of Thomson, GA, having made Hephzibah, GA his home for the past twenty-five years. He retired from the United States Army after thirty years of dedicated service. Following his retirement from the Army, he was employed at Fort Gordon, where he retired a second time. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as deacon and minister. Mr. Williams was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Prince Hall Lodge and a member of the North Augusta DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Williams and Virginia Goldwire Williams, a sister, Carrie Bell Stewart and a brother, Donald Williams. Survivors include his wife of eighteen years, Gladys A. Williams; three sons, Larry E. Williams, II, Tyrone Morton and Timothy (Dimineike) Morton; four daughters, Talithica Williams, Nichelle Williams, Kiara Williams, and Angela Nichole Morton; eight grandchildren, Taliyah Williams, Ayden, Javoni, Jamauri, Abigail, Addisyn Morton, A'mir Smith and Jaylon Kelly; two sisters, Daisy M. (Jesse) Hamilton and Joann Williams (McKenzie) Jenkins; special nieces and nephews, Dr. Samantha (Isaac) Sunkins, Sabrina Patilla, Tabatha ( Jimmy) Hamilton, Walter Stewart Jr, Destanetia Williams, Juwan Jackson, Donald Williams, Latoya Davis, Cynthia Cartledge; special cousins, Bessie Simmons, Delores Donaldson , a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; in-laws, Claude(Maggie) Cartledge, Leroy (Debra)Cartledge, Randy (Joyce) Cartledge, Marvin (Linda) Cartledge, Douglas (Demetria) Cartledge, Terry (Martha) Cartledge, Stevie (Shirley) Cartledge, Michael (Jennifer) Young, Deloris Price, and Valerie Stone; two Goddaughters, Renee Cartledge and LaShandra Mae Gilmore.
