Leila Stanton “Tilda” Watson North Augusta, SC – Memorial Services for Mrs. Leila Stanton “Tilda” Watson, 92, who entered into rest May 21, 2022, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Watson was born on November 6, 1929 to the late Robert Hollis Stanton and Sue Malcom Stanton. She was raised in Social Circle, GA, having made North Augusta, SC her home for the past 63 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta where she served with Nanny Hall as the assistant church hostess for the Wednesday fellowship dinner. Mrs. Watson was also a member of the Palmetto Garden Club and Daughters of the American Revolution, Martintown Road Chapter. In her early years, she was also member of the Civic Women’s Club of Augusta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. “Bubba” Watson and her brother, Robert Stanton, Jr.; a niece and nephews. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and John Price of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, John Allen (Kate) Price of Anderson, SC and Joan Aubrey Price, of Greenville, SC; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Price. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, 625 Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 106 SRP Drive, Evans, GA 30809.
