Michael D. "Mike" Canipe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

North Augusta, SC—Graveside Services for Mr. Michael D. “Mike” Canipe, 61, who entered into rest June 28, 2022, will be conducted Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2022, at 2 o’clock at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Michael Llamas officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery, following the service. Mr. Canipe was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was an Industrial Electrician with Carter Electric and was a tour guide for the Riverboat Tours on the Savannah River. Mr. Canipe enjoyed flying drones and was known for his “quick wit” and being a “jack of all trades.” He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Carlton Canipe, Sr.; his brother, Lawrence Carlton Canipe, Jr. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff on the 4th floor of the Intensive Care Unit at Augusta University Medical Center, for the exceptional care they provided during Mike’s illness. Survivors include four sons, Ryan Canipe, Hephzibah, GA, Chance Canipe, Beech Island, SC, Adam Canipe, Knightdale, NC, and Lawrence “L. C.” Canipe, Graniteville, SC; one daughter, April Graham, Augusta, GA; eleven grandchildren, his mother, Lydia Sue Canipe, North Augusta, SC; one brother, Harold (Julie) Canipe, North Augusta, SC; four sisters, Cathy (Joe) Kays, Aiken, SC, Wanda (Wayne) Llamas, Garner, NC, Cheryl (Michael) Llamas, Coats, NC, and Glenda Canipe, Huntersville, NC; a number of nieces and nephews; his longtime girlfriend, Jodi Cobb, North Augusta, SC.
