Morris R. Heyward

Evans, GA – Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Morris R. Heyward, 96, who entered into rest January 29, 2022, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pastor Bob Gosey officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Mr. Heyward was a native of Aiken County, a former resident of Cross Creek, FL and Conyers, GA, having made Evans, GA is home for the past 14 years. He will be fondly remembered as a Christian man who enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glady Murrah Heyward; a son, Morris Ronald Heyward, Jr.; a daughter, Mary Ellen Heyward; and eight siblings. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Dianne Peterson (Rick) of Evans, GA, Christy Lavelle (James) of Lacombe, LA, and Renee Hendrick (Chris) of Tifton, GA; a sister, Joyce Keeney of Coco, FL; three grandchildren, Marcus Peterson (Andrea), Kristin Morrison (Josh), and Amanda Medders (Jenny); and seven great-grandchildren.
