Robert Joe Ratcliff

Grovetown, GA – Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Joe Ratcliff, 96, who entered into rest May 5, 2022, will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o’clock from Sweetwater Baptist Church, Dr. Paul W. Noe and Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Ratcliff was born May 3, 1926, in Marion, North Carolina to the late Monroe and Sippie Ratcliff. He served his country in the United States Army for 20 years. Mr. Ratlciff was saved at age 70 and became an active member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, was a member of the Misfits Sunday School Class but enjoyed his ministry of leading the prayer breakfasts most of all. Mr. Ratlcliff enjoyed bowling, fishing and model trains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Eloise; siblings, James, Vivian, Betty, Grace and Evelyn; son, Larry Ratcliff; one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Luke Carpenter, Ryan Ratcliff, Christopher Ratcliff, Mike Garris, Dean McDaniel and Jeremy Wren. Survivors include daughters, Frances McMillan (Derald), Sandra McDaniel (Dean); sons, Roger Ratcliff (Fay), Carl Ratcliff (Janet); a daughter-in-law, Lisa Ratcliff; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers, Steven Ratcliff and Richard Ratcliff.
