Charlotte E. Lawrence

North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for Mrs. Charlotte E. Lawrence, 90, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Jeff Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o’clock. Ms Lawrence would want you to come to her visitation and service "as you are". She always loved and accepted you, just "as you are". Lots of color would make this a joyous occasion for a much loved woman - bright red was her favorite color! Mrs. Lawrence was born September 27, 1932, to the late John Asbury Booker and Ethel McGee Booker. She was a native of Wilmington, DE, a former resident of Aiken, SC, having made North Augusta, SC her home for the past 25 years. Mrs. Lawrence was employed with Aiken Industries for many years and retired as a payroll manager from Aiken Technical College with 15 years of service. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, and in recent years enjoyed traveling, playing BINGO and other games of chance. Mrs. Lawrence will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and spirited personality. She was a devout Christian and a member of True North Church. Mrs. Lawrence loved all people and never met a stranger. She truly had a servant’s heart and would often help those in need. However, her greatest joy in life was serving her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took immense pride in her role as matriarch and enjoyed giving guidance to those she loved. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David A. “Dave” Lawrence, Sr.; two brothers, Bill Corrigan and Jack Corrigan. Surviving family include four children, Ken Luhning (Susan) of Brussard, LA, Terri L. Turner of Grovetown, GA, Debra L. Neal of North Augusta, SC, and David A. “Chip” Lawrence Jr. (Louise) of Grovetown, GA; ten grandchildren, Katie Griggs (Matt), Michael Luhning, Joseph Luhning, Michael Turner (Katie), Lacey O’Connell (Winston), Ruby Liaros (Seth), Chandra Neal, Brittany Faulkner (Blake), Derek Moore (McKenzie), and Ashley Lawrence (Ryan Bugg); fifteen great-grandchildren, Evan Griggs, Jonah Griggs, Cameron Griggs, Quinn Turner, Levi Turner, Harper O’Connell, Lelia O’Connell, Alexis Neal, Rylan Moore, Kason Moore, Layton Faulkner, Fisher Faulkner, Parker Faulkner, Harleigh Newsome, and Arhya Cooper; and an expected grandchild, due in September 2023, she affectionately called “Little Bean” Liaros; and two dear friends, Sue Collinsworth and Lorraine Valero. Pallbearers will be Derek Moore, Ryan Bugg, Blake Faulkner, Seth Liaros, Winston O’Connell, and Tyler Sheehan.
