Athanasios Panagiotidis

Funeral Services for Athanasios Panagiotidis, 84, of North Augusta, who entered into rest at home with his family by his side May 1, 2023, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o’clock from Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 953 Telfair St in Augusta, GA, Rev, Vasile Bitere presiding. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A meal will be held back at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church directly following the graveside service. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Maria (Gilantsis); his daughters Anna Uldrick and Chrysoula Chalkiadakis and her husband Niko of Douglas, MA; his sister, Maria Germanos and her husband Kostas of Holden, MA; three brothers, Alex Panagiotidis and his wife Katina of Hrisohorafa, Greece, Peter Panagiotidis and his wife Litsa of Paxton, MA, and Stefanos Panagiotidis and his wife Priscilla of West Boyleston, MA; five grandchildren, Dustin (Ashley) Uldrick, Tony (Jessica) Uldrick, Stelliana (Clark) Johnson, Thanasi (Patricia) Chalkiadakis, and Nikola Chalkiadakis; five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Christos and Anna Panagiotidis and brother George Panagiotidis. He was born in Hrisohorafa, Greece, on November 1, 1938, the son of Christos and Anna (Alexiadis) Panagiotidis. He served 2 years in the Greek Army. He came to Worcester, MA, in 1972 and became a US Citizen in 2004. He owned the House of Pizza in Barnwell, SC for 35 years where he served his community. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Augusta, GA since 1983. He enjoyed working, taking his grandsons to Braves games, cooking and most importantly spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending his free time with his wonderful neighbors - Edwin & Cinthya Diaz, Richard & Mary Murphy, Mike & Nancy Cercy, Kyle & Brandi Green, and Jim & Lynn Crowell. They have been the most amazing community. His family would like to thank the amazing Agape nursing staff who came in to help him every day. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation- North Augusta Chapter.
