Carol M. Lindsay

Jackson, SC – Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol M. Lindsay, 87, who entered into rest July 9, 2021, will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o’clock at First Baptist Church of Jackson. Rev. Brian Henderson, Rev. Marion Britton and Dr. Mark Riser officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 o’clock. Mrs. Lindsay was a native of Monroe, NC having made Jackson, SC her home for the past 62 years. She was the loving wife of 43 years to the late David E. Lindsay, Sr., a loving mother to her sons and a Granny Carol, Grandma and MawMaw to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lindsay retired from DuPont and Westinghouse as a Registered Nurse at the Savannah River Site. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson where she was also a member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Mrs. Lindsay was actively involved as a member of the local Red Hat Society, Order of the Eastern Star and the Silver Sneakers program. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends attending dinner theaters and bus tours to various events. Mrs. Lindsay adored her family and loved cooking for family gatherings. She will be fondly remembered as the “Community Nurse” tending to all the cuts and scrapes of the neighborhood kids. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lindsay was preceded in death by her parents, John and Daisy McManus and a great-grandson, Riggs Lindsay. Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie Lindsay (Karen) of Beech Island, SC, Scott Lindsay (Lisa) of Jackson, SC, Rudy Lindsay (Rebecca) of Jackson, SC, Eric Lindsay of Beech Island, SC, and Rhett Lindsay of Jackson, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Randy McManus (Barbara) of Lexington, SC; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy Starnes (Larry), Waxhaw, NC; six grandsons and their spouses, David Lindsay (Laurel), Andy Lindsay (Booke), Brandon Lindsay (Heather), Jake Lindsay, Jeb Lindsay and Justin Lindsay; five granddaughters and their spouses, Amy Lindsay Loper (Everett), Brittany Lindsay, Shawn, Shellie Lindsay Murphy (Kevin), Gretchen Lindsay and Megan Lindsay; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her spouse, Angie and Art Calabretta. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kim Steed and Mrs. Lindsay’s grandsons. Active Pallbearers will be a close family friend, Billy Posey and Mrs. Lindsay’s five sons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Jackson, Mission Fund, 400 Third Street, Jackson, SC 29831. Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
