Debbie Still

Clarks Hill, SC – Funeral Services for Mrs. Debbie Still, 70, who entered into rest March 14, 2023, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel with her nephew, Kevin Liles, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. A private interment will be held in Jackson Memorial Park. To best celebrate Debbie’s life and her appreciation for music, Adore Duet will be graciously providing a stringed quartet and performing the musical selections for her services. Debra or “Debbie” Still was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 70 years of life. She was born on July 30, 1952, at the old University Hospital in Augusta, GA, to her loving parents, Evie Bishop and John Estes Liles. Her father was a World War II Marine and house painter back stateside, while her mother was a cake decorator in Aiken, SC. Debbie had three siblings Ann, Larry, and Johnny. Debbie attended public school in Aiken County and went on to graduate from the Augusta Business Collage at the old cotton exchange. She often remarked how she loved that school. After working local clerical jobs in Augusta, GA, she was hired at Savannah River Plant, where she worked for 37 years. She met her husband, Mitch, at work in 1982. Since 1988 they have been happily married for 34 years. Debbie loved the beach, cooking for others, supporting family, friends, co-workers and superiors. She understood virtue of sacrifice and will be fondly remembered for her strength, humility, and compassion. Debbie is survived by her husband, Mitch Still; a daughter, Stephanie (Jonathan) Wates; three grandchildren, Wyatt Wates, Madison Wates, and Darien Dorn; a brother, Johnny (Angie) Liles of Colorado; and a stepsister, Patsy Cheek of Lexington, SC. She is preceded by in death by her father, John E. Liles; her mother, Evie Jones; her sister, Ann Liles; her brother, Larry Liles; and a stepbrother, Charles Cheek. Her family and friends miss Debbie dearly. The are profoundly grateful for the time spent with her and will always feel her presence in their hearts.
