Dorothy Quiller "Teet" Newsome

Graniteville, SC – Graveside Services for Mrs. Dorothy “Teet” Quiller Newsome, 77, who entered into rest July 13, 2022, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Jacksonville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Joshua Bryant eulogist and Rev. James Arthur Adams presiding. A final viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o'clock. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock. Mrs. Newsome was born December 19, 1944, to the late Sam Quiller and Dorothy Annie Morgan Quiller. She was a lifelong resident of Aiken County and a member of Jacksonville Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir. Mrs. Newsome formerly worked at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Roseann’s Flowers and served as a nutritionist at the Aiken County Hospital cafeteria for many years. She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed providing great food for every cookout, family gathering and Sunday dinners. Mrs. Newsome’s greatest joy in life was her family. She would often babysit the children of her friends and family, caring for them like they were her own. Mrs. Newsome was truly a Christian woman who will be fondly remembered for her kind heart and service to others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Newsome; two brothers, Allen Quiller and William Quiller; Surviving family include a sister, Mildred Quiller of Graniteville, SC; a brother, Samuel Herman Quiller (Sharon) of Graniteville, SC;; two sisters-in-law, Doris Quiller of Bath, SC and Bernadette Newsome of Clearwater, SC; two aunts, Evetta Warren of Bronx, NY and Ollie Mae Odom (Rod) of Aiken, SC; two uncles Alex Warren of Elizabeth City, New Jersey and Benjamin Warren of Bronx, New York; a godson, Gregory Wilson of Beaufort, SC; godbrother, Rodriguez “Ricky” Quiller of Graniteville, SC and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Newsome’s nephews and great-nephews, Andre Quiller, Samuel T. Quiller, Morgan Quiller, Dwight Bush, Gregory Wilson, Nicholas Lewis, Trevor Perry, Darian Curry, William Drake Waymer, Cullen Perry and Christopher Parker.
