Julie H. Lee

Evans, GA – Memorial Services for Ms. Julie H. Lee, 68, who entered into rest January 23, 2025, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2025, at 2 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel with Dr. Stephen Cutchins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o’clock. Julie was born September 24, 1956, to the late Jack Harris Herrington and Peggy June Kirkland Bell. She was raised in Martinez, GA and as a youth, she was a member of the Girl Scouts, was a candy striper at St. Joseph Hospital, and sang in the youth choir at Martinez Baptist Church. Following her graduation from Evans High School, Julie began her career in Civil Service, working in administration at Ft. Gordon with over 30 years of service. She was a proud patriot who loved her country, had a strong work ethic and received multiple awards and commendations throughout her career. Julie had a creative talent and loved making wreaths, decorating for weddings, and catering special events for her friends and family. Cooking was a passion, with her famous spaghetti and signature brownies being fan favorites. She enjoyed a good movie at the theater and had a great appreciation and love for music. However, her greatest joy in life was her family and friends, always keeping in touch with loved ones, celebrating their successes and achievements with frequent cards and encouraging notes. Julie adored her family and was known for organizing the annual Heyward Family Reunion. In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her former spouse, Dr. Danny R. Lee. Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her son, Dr. Jason Lee (Dr. Darcie); four siblings, Keith Herrington (Kathy), Kirk Herrington, Cindy Smith (Benjie), and Cheri Blackwell; three grandchildren, Jacob Lee, Abbigail Lee, and Olivia Lee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Herrington, Brandon Blackwell, Marcus Peterson, Steve Heyward, Brian Mathewson, Cody Turner, Christopher Cutler, Al Hadden-Milligan, and Julie’s grandchildren.
