Mr. Leland Ray Moore North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services for Mr. Leland Ray Moore, 79, of Winyah Drive, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest at University Hospital Heart and Vascular Center on his 51st wedding anniversary, May 16, 2010, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Rev. Andy Hunter, Rev. Jerry T. Matthews and Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. Mr. Moore was a native of Lancaster, SC, having made North Augusta his home for the past 44 years. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 17, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post # 71. Mr. Moore retired from Swift and Company as a Beef Product Manager with 33 years of service. He was a volunteer at the North Augusta Recreation Center and was the 2009 North Augusta Volunteer of the Year award recipient. Mr. Moore was known for his sense of humor, kindness and positive attitude. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Etta Moore and a brother, Cecil Moore. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rebecca C. Moore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Larry Hall, Lexington, SC and Susan and Ben Laywell, North Augusta; two brothers, William Moore, Lancaster, SC and Jack Moore, Morgantown, KY; two sisters, Geneva Walters, Columbia, SC and Shirley Bradley, Camden, SC; two grandchildren, Arden Hall and Brandon Laywell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Moore’s “adopted” children and grandchildren. Active Pallbearers will be Everett Kitchens, Bobby Dodd, Jack Fountain, Curt Berg, Jr., Brent Parker, James Benton, Joseph Oller and Greg Hunter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.
