Margie McCorkle Landrum

Margie McCorkle Landrum, age 87, a native of Dearing, GA having made Jackson, SC her home passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025. Margie was born in McDuffie County, GA to the late Reuben McCorkle and Frances Radford. In addition to her parents, Margie is preceded in death by her husband Horace Landrum; grandson, Jason Moroz; and great-grandson, Nicoleus Taylor. Margie is survived by her loving sister, Julianne Lovins, of Dearing, GA, sons Michael Landrum (wife Beth) of Houston TX and Marty Landrum (wife Lisa) of Jackson, SC; daughters Michelle Cross (husband Kirk) of Holly, MI and Melinda Moroz of Vonore, TN; seven grandchildren, Ashley “Punk Rock” Woods, Dave Landrum (wife Florence), Joe Landrum (wife Isabel), Collin Landrum, Evan Landrum, Meadow Cross, and Mikel Moroz; five great-grandchildren, Andy Cross, Savannah Taylor, Hannah Taylor, Maya Landrum and Camila Landrum. Margie was a Graduate of Dearing High School where she played basketball and was voted FFA Queen of Dearing. Margie married her childhood sweetheart, Horace whom she helped support through his education at the University of Georgia and devoted her life to for the next 60 years. Caring for her husband and four loving children was a lifelong commitment and paramount to her life. Margie was a member of the Sandy Acres Garden Club for 33 years where she fostered many lifelong relationships. As much as she was passionate about a pristine garden, she cherished her beloved friends. Margie enjoyed family time at the lake where she would attract blessings by feeding the crows, cheering on “Margie’s Dawgs” and “Margie’s Braves”, dancing to Tina Turner, and living up to her reputation as “the Michael Jordan of Cooking” preparing her delicious Chicken and Dumplings with Sweet Potato Casserole. Margie’s infectious spirit and energy will be terribly missed by her loving family and all those that were blessed by her gentle touch. Margie loved Jehovah with her whole heart, mind and soul. Margie’s family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care she received the past four and a half years from L & L Sweet Home Care. The family will receive friends Wednesday March 26, 2025 at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City, TN (109 Walnut Street) from 5pm-6pm. The family will also receive friends Saturday March 29, 2025 at Posey Funeral Home in North Augusta, SC (1307 Georgia Avenue) from 1pm-2pm, with private graveside services immediately following.
