Michael Gusko

North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services, celebrating the life of Christopher Michael Gusko, 40, who entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2021, will be conducted Thursday evening, May 27, 2021, at 6 o’clock in First Baptist Church of North Augusta with Dr. Stephen Cutchins and Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5 until 7. Christopher Michael Gusko was born on December 14, 1980, and was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana and graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 1999. During his high school years, he participated on the golf team, French club, and was an active member of the choir at Christ United Methodist Church. He married his wife, Jessica, in May of 2001. While residing in Louisiana, Michael was active in the Rotary Club, serving as President, and Pilots for Patients, an organization that gives flights to the ill for free. Michael and his family moved to South Carolina in early 2016 for Michael to continue to pursue his career in aviation. Michael was an active member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta and the Christ In Us Sunday School Class. When he was not flying, he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, fishing out at the family's Boggy Gully in Monetta, grilling, and driving his daughter’s crazy with dad jokes. Michael never met a stranger and loved his family with everything in him and managed the caretaking for his Memom and Poppy up until their passing. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Randy Bouknight, Randy Carpenter, and Joe and Susan Prothro for their love and care over the past week. Michael was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Gusko; his grandparents, Simon and Laverne Bouknight and William and Ouida Gusko, and his uncle, Robert "Bob" Bouknight. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty years, Jessica Ducote Gusko; his daughters, Hannah, and Emma Gusko; his mother, Sherri Bouknight Gusko of Shreveport, LA; his sister Beth Gusko Freeman and husband Stacey of Shreveport, LA; his aunt Susan Bouknight Prothro and husband Joe of Greenwood, SC; his uncles, Randy Bouknight and wife Pat of Greenwood, SC and Alex Gusko and his wife Jill of Pembroke Pines, FL, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Emma Gusko, Hannah Gusko, Simon Freeman, Stacey Freeman, Ryan Bouknight, Nathan Bouknight, Kyle Prothro, and Andrew Prothro.
