Richard Milledge Logan, Sr. & Barbara Anne Holton Logan

Edgefield, SC – Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Milledge Logan, Sr., 78, and Mrs. Barbara Anne Holton Logan, 73, who entered into rest December 7, 2022, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Pineview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wayne Lee Krom officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Mr. Logan was born October 4, 1944, to the late Walter Percy Logan and Margaret Riley Logan. He was a native of Augusta, GA, and retired as a machine tender from Augusta Newsprint with 38 years of service. Mr. Logan was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. He will be fondly remembered for his wit and sense of humor, always telling jokes and bringing smiles to everyone he knew. Mr. Logan was preceded in death by his beloved dog and best friend, Roo. Mrs. Logan was born August 9, 1949, to the late Glyn Lanier Holton and Christine Merriett Holton. She was a native of North Augusta, SC and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. As a dedicated homemaker, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Logan were married in 1968, and raised their three children together in Hepzibah, GA, later settling in Edgefield, SC, making it their home for the past 38 years. As their children matured and married, they considered themselves blessed to gain a son-in-law and daughters-in-law, who they treated as their own. In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Trippi Yarbrough. Family members left to cherish their memory include two sons, Richard Milledge Logan, Jr. (Mellody) of Belvedere, SC, and Jeremy Brandon Logan (Tabetha) of Edgefield, SC; a daughter, Kelly Logan Hopson (Scotty) of Beech Island, SC; five grandchildren, Tyler Christopher Logan, Gage Lee Logan, Logan Ray Hopson, Conner Michael Logan, and Lauren Nicole Hopson. Additional survivors include Mrs. Logan’s siblings, Faye Yarbrough of Davisboro, GA, Larry Holton (Debbie) of North Augusta, SC, Glynda Borders (Larry) of Edgefield, SC, and Judy Fountain (J.L.) of North Augusta, SC. Pallbearers will be Tyler Christopher Logan, Gage Lee Logan, Logan Ray Hopson, and Conner Michael Logan.
