Ms. Susan Rebecca “Becky” Smith North Augusta, SC - Funeral Services for Ms. Susan Rebecca “Becky” Smith, 64, of North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest October 17, 2022, will be conducted Saturday morning, October 29th at 11 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, October 28th from 5 until 7 o’clock. Becky was born in Rockville, MD on August 10, 1958. She was the second daughter of Sara Jane Smith and the late Samuel A. Smith, Jr. Raised in Maryland, Becky graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1976. She went on to attend Brigham Young University in Hawaii and later graduated with her Batchelor of Arts in Clothing and Textiles from Brigham Young University in Provo. Becky made North Augusta, SC her home for the past 20 years and was a Benefits Specialist at Piedmont of Augusta. She was an accomplished seamstress, often making bridal gowns, clothing and many other handicrafts for family members and friends. Becky had a passion for cooking, baking and using her talents and abilities to touch the lives of others with her homemade gifts. She was a devoted and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she had the privilege of serving in various callings. However, her greatest joy came from teaching and mentoring the youth and primary age children. Becky will be fondly remembered for truly having a servant’s heart. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Goodhue. Survivors include her mother, Sara Jane Smith of North Augusta, SC; three sisters, Beth Goodhue of North Augusta, SC, Debbie Christensen (Bruce) of San Antonio, TX, and Wendy Smith of North Augusta, SC; nieces and nephews, Claire Sirmans (Lane), Alex Goodhue, David Goodhue (Hilary), Courtney Taylor (Devin), Eric Christensen (Camden), Brian Goodhue, and Colin Christensen; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers will be Alex Goodhue, David Goodhue, Brian Goodhue, Eric Christensen, Colin Christensen, and Grant Ivy. Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta in charge of arrangements (803-278-1181).
