William Neal Walker

North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for William Neal Walker, 85, who entered into eternal rest at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 23, 2023, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel with Trent Mercer and John Mabrey officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Cemetery, Thomson, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A native of Jackson, TN, he had made North Augusta his home for the past 51 years. William served eight years in the Tennessee National Guard. After a twenty-year career in the pest control industry, he and his longtime friend, Auren H. Mitchell, Jr., established Armor Exterminating Company in 1982. Mr. Mitchell retired later, and William became the sole owner. He was a member of the Georgia Pest Control Association, CSRA Pest Control Association, and the South Carolina Pest Control Association. He also was a former member and director of the North Augusta Lions Club. Mr. Walker was a man of faith and served as the Youth Bible Class teacher for several years. He was currently a member at Evans Church of Christ. Mr. Walker had a loving heart and was always willing to help those in need, most often when he thought no one else was aware. He was a devoted family man and loved them all deeply. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue A. Walker; three children, Todd Walker (Regina), of Evans, GA, Michele M. Carr, of North Augusta, SC, Melissa M. Speering (Keith) of North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Jessica Walker, Reagan Walker, Ashlee Carr, Lyndsey Freeman (David), Preston Brown (Courtney), Hunter Speering; great-grandchildren, Kate Freeman and David Freeman. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his first wife Mrs. Cecilia Ann Walker; his sons William N. Walker II, Mark A. Walker; parents, Guy H. Walker, and Louise Fullerton Walker; siblings, Guy C. Walker, Frances W. Cleary Roberts, Helen W. McCrosky, and Betty W. Lovett McCord, all of Jackson, TN. Pallbearers will be Preston Brown, David Freeman, Jason Pilgrim, Mike Churchwell, Scott Covington, and Sam Scott. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, Raintree Village, Inc. Children’s Home, or a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Connie Royals with Right at Home for her devotion and exemplary care for William.
