North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services for Mr. Charles B. Black, Sr., 73, who entered into rest January 19, 2021, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Dr. Eleazer Benenhaley and Dr. Paul Noe officiating. Interment in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be streamed live from Sweetwater Baptist Church Facebook page. We encourage those attending to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced. Mr. Black was the son of the late Hampton Butler Black and Helen Blackstone Black having made North Augusta his life-long home. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, the Belvedere Masonic Lodge # 388, A.F.M. and was a Scottish Rite Mason. Mr. Black enjoyed fishing, karaoke, telling jokes, playing Santa Claus and was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. He was the former owner and operator of Georgia Auto Magic that served the CSRA for more than 20 years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Connie F. Black, a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tim Benenhaley, North Augusta, SC; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Michelle Black, Edgefield, SC; five grandchildren, Breanna (Paul) Jeanmougin, Brooke Benenhaley, Blair Benenhaley, Lacey Black and Levi Black; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis “Rab” and Donna Black, North Augusta, SC and T. Jerry and Linda Black, Clearwater, SC; one sister, Deborah Benenhaley; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his sidekick fur babies, Oscar and Scooter. Pallbearers will be Ray Ferguson, Allen Black, Chris Grant, Dorsey B. Mitchell, Paul Jeanmougin and Thomas R. Ferguson.
