    David A. Harris

    April 11, 1966 - January 21, 2022

    North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services for Mr. David A. Harris, 55, who entered into rest January 21, 2022, will be conducted Saturday afternoon, January 29, 2022, at 2 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel with Veterans Honors. Fr. Mark Ross officiating. Interment will be private. David was a life-long resident of North Augusta and a 1984 graduate of North Augusta High School. After graduating, he began his career with the city in the Public Utilities Department as a meter reader. David joined the Army in 1986 and upon completing his tour returned to the city where he served the citizens of North Augusta as a public safety officer. He retired from public safety in November of 2021 and went to work in Code Compliance for the city. During David’s 30 years of public service to the city and citizens of North Augusta he impacted many for good and made North Augusta a better place. David loved spending time with his family and supporting his children in all they did. He enjoyed playing golf, loved his dogs and took pride in having a well-maintained yard. David was an avid Notre Dame fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching games with his son Brandon and his father-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Alice Harris and his sister Debra Harris. Survivors include his wife, Susan Harris; two sons, Brandon Harris and Joshua Hosler, both of North Augusta, SC; two daughters, Kimberly (Aaron) Devlin, North Augusta, SC and Alexandria (Jared Huntley) Kennedy, Port Richey, FL; a brother, Donald J. (Heather) Harris, Mt. Vernon, OH; four grandchildren, Joseph Devlin, Oliviah Devlin, Genevieve Kennedy and Scarlett Huntley; three nieces, Niki Bendickson, Jackson, SC, Deedee Signal, Aiken, SC and Jennifer (Chris) Adkinson, Beech Island, SC; three sisters-in-law, Vivian (Michael) McGurn, Trenton, SC, Mary (Ottie) Stuprich, Hudson, FL, Stacey (Bob) Bowen, New Port Richey, FL; a brother-in-law, Harry Seger, Burlington, VT; several great nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be officers from the North Augusta Department of Public Safety and North Augusta City Employees. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5 until 7. Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta is in charge of arrangements (803.278.1181).
