Betty House Ayers

North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for Betty Lee House Ayers who was peacefully welcomed into Heaven on the 15th of November 2024 at the age of 76 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel, Pastor Jim Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Ayers was residing in Statesboro, GA with her daughter, Debby Alderman who took care of her after her husband Donald Ayers passed away on July 9th, 2024. The two are united at last after they had spent 56 beautiful years together. Mrs. Betty Ayers was born on December 6, 1947, in Barnesville, Georgia to Mrs. Ada Geneva Jackson and Mr. James Lee House Sr. Betty was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and so much more. Mrs. Ayers was very selfless and gave to everyone she came across. She impacted many lives with her acts of kindness. She was the oldest sibling to four brothers and two sisters, all of which she helped raise. All of her siblings looked up to Betty as a mother figure. She loved them as her own. When Mrs. Ayers turned 14, she met her one and only true love, Donald Ayers. By 1967, the two were bound in holy matrimony. Betty was eventually blessed with 4 precious children- three sons and one daughter. The Lord then endowed her with 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Every role that Betty played; she was the best at it. She was devoted to her family, and they meant the world to her. Betty prayed since she was just a little girl for God to bless her with a career that would help others. She eventually found her calling, which was nursing. In 1990 she graduated as Valedictorian of her nursing class at the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Ayers dedicated over 20 years at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia in the medical-surgical unit as a registered nurse. She was well known and loved by her patients for her kindness, gentleness, and compassion to each of them. She would even pray with them and family members at times of need. She would often say that God placed this calling on her life, as she was fully dedicated to helping others. Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ayers; mother, Ada Geneva Jackson; father, James House Sr.; stepfather, Gene Jackson; firstborn son, Tracy Ayers, Sr.; son-in-law, Jamey Alderman; sister, Barbara Ammons; brothers, Bill Carter, Jack Norris, and Tommy House. Betty is survived by her sister, Debra Saltrese; brother, James House, daughter-in-law, Leigh Ayers; sons, David Ayers (Belinda) and Ricky Ayers (Sherri); daughter, Debby Alderman; grandchildren, Tracy Ayers Jr, Camrey Alderman, Jonathan Ayers, Landon Alderman, Emily Ayers, Jacob Ayers, Caden Alderman, Mattison Ayers, Justin Ayers, and Haley Ayers; great grandson, Ryder Jaymes Alderman; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to many loved ones who will miss her whole heartedly, Betty leaves behind her dog, Molly that will be greatly taken care of as promised, by her brother James House. Pallbearers will be Tracy Ayers, Jr., Jonathan Ayers, Jacob Ayers, Justin Ayers, Landon Alderman and Caden Alderman.
