Bill Farr

Wilson Wiley (Bill) Farr went to be with his Savior, Jesus, on Friday, October 27, 2023. Although he was born in Charlotte, NC, on March 17, 1940, his family made Augusta their home in 1946. He grew up attending Trinity United Methodist Church and graduated from Richmond Academy before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in 1963. After college, Bill began work at The Carpet Shop, Inc., where he owned and operated the company for over 50 years. He was known as firm but fair and was greatly respected and loved by all who worked with him. Bill was a member of the Kiwanis Club and placed great importance on supporting many local and national charities. Bill married the love of his life, Donna, in 1976 and was a devoted husband for 47 years. Together they attended Warren Baptist Church, where Bill was baptized in 1980. As an active member, he helped lead the Vision to Victory committee that built the present-day sanctuary of Warren. Bill had many hobbies, but all included time with his family which he loved dearly. Of all his accomplishments and blessings, he was most proud of and thankful for the family God had given him. Bill is survived by his wife, Donna Farr of North Augusta; children Ginger Subers (Jay), Kimberly Nichols (Dan), Susan Callahan (Derrick), Dan Holloway (Holly), Ashley Harris (Adam); grandchildren, Tanner Subers (Maddie), Chad Subers, Bennett Nichols, Ashby Callahan, Luke Callahan, Sarah Beth Holloway, Daniel Holloway, Will Holloway, Jack Holloway, Macy Harris, Cara Anne Harris, and Wiley Harris; great-granddaughter Emma Subers; brother Thomas Farr (Betsy); sister-in-law Miriam Mills. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilson O. Farr and Cara Bourne Farr; grandson William Nichols. The family would like to thank Sheila, Martha, Lakeyla, and Gloria for their loving care and Betty Glasker for her friendship of the family for over 40 years. The service to honor and celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Warren Baptist Church. Family will receive friends who would like to extend condolences immediately after the service in the fellowship hall. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
