Colleen "Mickey" Ackles Paisley

Houston, TX—Mrs. Colleen “Mickey” Ackles Paisley, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the age of 93. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, August 14, 2021, in the Posey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, North Augusta, South Carolina. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Paisley was born in North Augusta, South Carolina on September 2, 1927, to Emma and Frank O. Ackles. She attended North Augusta schools and graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1950¬¬¬. Mrs. Paisley took great delight in teaching young children to read and enjoyed a thirteen-year career educating first grade students in South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas. She enjoyed sight-seeing and traveling the world. She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family. Mrs. Paisley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Paisley; her parents, her sisters; Georgia Crawford, Emma Servant, Mary Propst, Catherine (Kitty) Durden; her brothers James Ackles and Frank Ackles, Jr. The family would like to give their heartfelt gratitude to her daily caregiver Katrina and to the Brookdale Hospice caregivers and nurses, Chrisshonda, Kendra, Tammy, Vicki, Lucy, Bianca, Ms. King, Shaneela, and Lisa. Survivors include her daughter, Patty Paisley Rabel (Ditz) of Iola, Texas; her sons, Tim Paisley (Kim) of Katy, Texas and Tom Paisley (Mary) of Hillsborough, NC. She was affectionately known as “Gogie” by her 9 grandchildren, Heather Paisley, Adam Paisley, Jenna Friedrich, Chase Rabel, Scott Paisley, Evan Paisley, Marshall Paisley, Brooke Paisley, and Lia Paisley; a number of nieces and nephews.
