Earl Thomas King

Funeral services for Earl King who entered into rest April 20,2025, will be conducted Wednesday, April 23 at 11 o'clock from Posey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Paul W. Noe officiating. Internment will follow in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with Military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Earl King, a devoted husband, loving father, and man of deep faith, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family and his country. Earl was born July 11, 1937, in Blythe, GA, to the late Monroe and Avis Washington King. A graduate of Hephzibah High School, Earl continued his education at Atlanta Electronics School, where he honed the skills that would serve as the foundation for a long and successful career. He served his country with honor in the Air Force National Guard during a time of great tension, including the Cuban Missile Crisis, exemplifying courage and steadfast commitment. Following his military service, Earl began a remarkable 42-year career with AT&T. His work ethic, reliability, and professionalism earned him the respect of colleagues and leadership alike, culminating in a well-earned retirement. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Earl will be remembered most for the love he shared with his family. He was a dedicated husband and father who led his household with kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. Earl was a man of deep Christian faith, and his love for the Lord guided every aspect of his life. His presence was a quiet strength, his advice always grounded in compassion and truth. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and the Joyous Seniors Group. Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine King; his daughter Robyn McBeath (Matt) Mt. Pleasant, SC and son, Mark King(Susan) North Augusta, SC and seven grandchildren: David McBeath (Millie) Mt Pleasant SC, Jacob McBeath (Brooke) Nashville, TN, Sgt Joshua King (Belle), Ft. Eisenhower, Augusta, GA, Sgt Hannah Martin (Joshua) deployed to South Korea, Patrick King, Lydia King and Joel King all of North Augusta. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren Haidyn, Rhett and twins Charlotte and Harper. He is survived by two sisters Martha Clifton (Stan), Margie Taylor (Bill), two brothers James King (Joyce) and Billy King (Joanne). He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him. Pallbearers will be David McBeath, Jacob McBeath, Patrick King, Matthew McBeath. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church, 198 Sweetwater Rd., North Augusta, SC 29860.
