Franklin P. Rollins

Beech Island, SC – Funeral Services for Mr. Franklin P. Rollins, 85, who entered into rest December 30, 2021, will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock from Matlock Baptist Church. Rev. Dale Reeves and Dr. E. Finley Limehouse officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Veteran Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 o’clock. Mr. Rollins was born August 25, 1936 to the late Curtis and Minnie Rollins. He was a native of Spartanburg, SC, having made Beech Island, SC his home for the past 58 years. Mr. Rollins was a member of Matlock Baptist Church and was a devout Christian, who loved the Lord and his church family. He retired from Kimberly-Clark with over 25 years of service. Mr. Rollins was an avid deer hunter, NASCAR fan and antique car enthusiast, owning several Studebaker cars. In his younger years he enjoyed drag racing and was awarded many trophies. Mr. Rollins took great joy in spending time at the lake but the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was priceless. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Roberson, Esther Bishop, and Jewel Rollins. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nancy Rollins; two sons, James Timothy “Tim” Rollins (Cynthia) and Michael Kevin “Mike” Rollins (Elizabeth) all of Beech Island, SC; a brother, Dr. Eugene Rollins (Linda) of Camden, SC; a sister, Faye Hamby of Greer, SC; four grandchildren, Megan Smith (Jason), Brandon Rollins, Alyssa Seagle (Richard) and Shayne Rollins (Michelle); nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Webb Site Men’s Sunday School Class. Active Pallbearers will be Shayne Rollins, Brandon Rollins, Lucas Smith, Jason Smith, Richard Seagle, Lyn Skinner and Harold Bishop, Jr. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to a special friend and caregiver, Sandra Parry, as well as Corlistic, Alisha, Angela, Becky, Father Paul, the Matlock church family and the staff of Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care.
