Fred Brown Hill

Fred Brown Hill, 82, of North Augusta, SC, entered into rest on June 16, 2025. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday morning, 27 June, at 10 o’clock at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1704 Bunting Dr., North Augusta, Bishop Eric Shealy presiding. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens. In addition, the family will receive friends at Posey Funeral Directors Thursday evening, 26 June, from 5PM until 7PM. Mr. Hill was born on November 30, 1942, in Albany, New York to the late Donald and Hester Hill. Fred demonstrated a tremendous work ethic throughout his life, working as a golf caddy in his youth, and later becoming a master carpenter with a reputation for his finishing skills. He used his expertise in both residential and commercial projects. He had a large collection of tools! After moving to Michigan, one of his favorite opportunities was helping to set up for the Detroit Auto Show. His grandparents Rev Fred R Brown and Clella Brown did tremendous missionary work under the auspices of the Methodist Church in China and his mother Hester was born there. This heritage set the tone for his cherished beliefs as a devout follower of Jesus Christ. He faithfully served in various callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including facilities caretaker, temple ordinance worker, and ministering brother. Fred was universally recognized for his humor. He was an avid genealogist and a collector of music of his era. He was passionate about cars and woodworking. He kept his mind active through crossword puzzles, study of the scriptures, and service to others. His grandchildren felt loved by him, and his dear wife, Marjorie, of twenty-five years, felt blessed by his constancy and faithfulness. They love each other deeply, and though they will be apart for a time, they are so grateful for God’s plan of happiness where, through His son Jesus Christ, they will be together again. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Fred Hill; sister, Marilyn Hintermaier; brother, Donald Hill; and granddaughter, Courtney Hill. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hill; sister, Stephanie Kosel (Joe); daughter, Terri Selkirk (John); sons, Scott Hill and Todd Hill (Tammy); stepchildren, Robert Fisher (Kathrine), Lorraine Fisher Mitton, Brian Fisher (Charlotte) and Michael Fisher (Robin); grandchildren, Nicole, Shannon, Shayla, Christopher, Robert, Nicholas, Ruby, Gabriella, Jessica, John, Sarah, Elizabeth, Mariel, Leah, Kara, Parker, Linsley, Logan, Karli, Grant, Sage, Adam, Amanda and Marie. Pallbearers will be Todd Hill, Matthew Hintermaier, Aaron Kosel, Robert Fisher, Brian Fisher, and Michael Fisher.
