Mr. Fred Schoenfelder “Captain Fred” Augusta, GA—The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Fredrick W. Schoenfelder, 57, of Goshen Road, Augusta, Georgia, who entered into rest April 3, 2007 will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o’clock from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Father John M. Zimmerman celebrant. Interment in Westover Memorial Park. Mr. Fredrick W. Schoenfelder was born on February 26, 1950 in Augusta, Georgia. He lived most of his life in the CSRA. He attended Our Lady of Peace Catholic School and graduated in 1968 from North Augusta High School. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #1579 and served as an instructor for the electrical apprentice program. He was employed by E.I. Dupont and SRS Westinghouse as an Instrumentation Engineer. He was President and CEO of South Eastern Control Systems, specializing in industrial controls. Most recently he was employed with P.Q. Corporation. Fred was a professional and avid photographer for over 35 years, owning both, Video Works Productions, a photography and video production company, and PBF Studios, a digital photography studio. From the forefront of computer technology to modern day on-line communities like Pal-Talk, Fred was considered by many, a “Computer Genius”. As a master fisherman, he not only enjoyed the sport of fishing but being able to bring the joy of catching fish to others. He was the past president of Clarks Hill Striper Club and the owner/guide of Reel Time Striper Fishing. As a motorcycle enthusiast, he loved to ride his Harley-Davidson, Heritage Softail Classic. Freddie was a loving and devoted father, brother, and son. He had a special way of touching the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved him. Fred was a true gentleman who will be missed by all. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Gary Sammons, Charleston, April and Michael Zahner, Augusta and Nikki Schoenfelder, North Augusta; father, A.W. “Dick” Schoenfelder, North Augusta; three sisters, Susan Todd and Judy Berry, both of North Augusta and Christine Jernigan, Aiken; four grandchildren, Ryan Bicford, Brittany Bicford, Brian Zahner and Natalie Zahner; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Crystal Monds. Pallbearers will be Dennis Dupris, Eric Howard, Jason Berry, Michael Ruvo, Steve Brown and Robert Cheeks. A Vigil Service for the Deceased will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday evening at 6 followed by visitation until 8. The family will be at the residence of Judy and John Berry, 46 Cannon Mill Court, North Augusta, SC.
