Harry Paul Horner

Harry Paul Horner, beloved husband of 28 years to Marci Lynn Horner, joined the Lord in eternal peace on March 27, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends while transitioning in the privacy of his home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Father Richard Wilson Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 in the chapel of Posey Funeral Directors, with the visitation following until 8 o'clock. For those who are unable to attend, the Mass will be streamed live on Posey Funeral Directors Facebook Page. Harry demonstrated his love for our Lord daily in everything he did and everyone he encountered. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Peace, North Augusta SC. Harry began his Nuclear Engineering career with Westinghouse at Waltz Mill, transferred to Fernald, and later retiring from the Savannah River Site after 35 years. Being born of America’s Greatest Generation, Harry loved the US Military, becoming a scholar in WWII history. Harry loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and he always had a contagious smile on his face. Harry was blessed with several “Angels”; Candie Broach and Patricia “Pat” Broadwater, who provided loving care. Harry was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Jeannette (Hooker) Horner, father, George Patrick Horner, mother-in-law, Marcella Gladys (Hodges) Benson, father-in-law, James Henry Benson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Christopher Horner, Kenneth Horner, Brady Morris, Hayden Morris, Andrew “Drew” Luder, Tyler Moxley, Andrew Luder and Eddie Matthews. Harry leaves beautiful memories with his sons, Christopher James (Holly Elizabeth) Horner, Kenneth Paul Horner, Brady Wayne (Cammie Irene) Morris; daughters, Jennifer Lynn (Andrew) Luder and Amanda Dawn Morris. He adored his grandchildren Andrew “Drew” Drake (Morgan Taylor) Luder, Tyler Duane Moxley, Sydney Taylor Horner, Katarina Marcella Luder, Hayden Durell Morris, Ruby Marie Morris, Patsy Rose Morris, Jackson Thomas Horner, and his great-grandson Braxton James Horner. Harry was the loving role model “Papaw” for many children. It is said, when a door closes, a window opens. A beautiful window opened with the birth of Christopher and Holly’s son, Jackson Thomas Horner, arriving on February 22, 2022. Harry is survived by his four sisters, Teresa Horner Decker, Jean Horner (Gordon) Buck, Marian Horner (Larry) Polous, and Joan Horner (Ronnie) Fullwood; a number of nieces and nephews.
