Jesse James "Jimmy" Crim, Jr.

Waynesboro, GA – Mr. Jesse James “Jimmy” Crim, Jr., 71 years young, went home to be with God on March 14, 2018 with his loving wife of 47 years holding his hand. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from St. James United Methodist Church. Rev. Thurman Norville officiating. Interment in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Sardis, GA, with Full Military Honors. Jimmy was born on May 12, 1946 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Jesse James Crim, Sr. and Evelyn Satcher Crim. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who would do anything for his family and friends. Jimmy resided in Waynesboro, GA with his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Godbee Crim. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Harry E. Hubbard during the Vietnam War. Jimmy retired from Kimberly Clark after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the United Methodist Men’s Club. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, antiquing, and running an antique booth at Riverfront Antique Mall that he shared with his wife and daughter. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Godbee Crim; his three children and their spouses, Jennifer Crim Brade and Matthew John Brade, Jesse James Crim III and Lacey Havens Crim, and Jonathan Neal Crim; his 4 grandchildren, Addie Ashlyn Crim, Lilia Evelyn Brade, Jesse James Crim IV, Summer Alexis Mayer; his two sisters, Martha Crim (Stewart) Lichtenburg, Nancy Crim Mathis; a brother-in-law, Danny Newton; sisters-in-law, Lorene (Ulysses) Gobert, Betty (Cliff) Brooks; nephews, Jerad Newton, Terry Mathis, Jr., Todd Gobert, Eric Gobert, Neal Gobert, Cleveland Gobert; nieces, Dana Doss, Teresa Tuten, Patricia Cantaline, Cheryl McDonough; cousins, Johnny Crim, Eleanor Crim, Gene Crim, Michael Crim, Jim Ponder, Ann Rauton, David Satcher and James Whatley. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Terry Mathis and a nephew, Christopher Mathis. Pallbearers will be Richard Isdell, Bobby Baxter, Billy Baxter, Joe Saxon, Bradley Powell and Paschal Mock. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jimmy's honor to St. James United Methodist Church, 439 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
