Robert E. "Bob" Hajec

Aiken, SC—A Celebration of Life for Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Hajec, 66, of 4 Woodwind Way, Aiken, SC, who entered into rest May 24, 2014, will be conducted at the residence May 27, 2014, Tuesday evening at 6 o’clock. The family will receive friends at the residence from 5 until 7. Dr. Christopher Crotwell, Pastor of the South Aiken Presbyterian Church, is officiating. Bob was a native of Corry, Pennsylvania, having made Aiken his home for the past twenty-one years as an accountant with Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. Bob, a Polish Catholic son of the late Joseph Paul and Leocadia May Hajec, loved their large family gatherings. He was a graduate of Corry High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University in 1969. Upon graduation he accepted an auditor position with Price Waterhouse, and then began his forty-three year career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation living in Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Aiken. Bob, an avid Penn State fan who enjoyed drawing, poetry, woodworking, and England, was devoted to work, God, and family. Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Sherry Brasher Hajec; a son, Brandon Hajec, Aiken; a daughter, Allison Hajec, Charleston, SC; a brother and his wife, Ron and Sue Hajec, Binghamton, NY; two sisters and their husbands, Linda and Mike Roden and Carol and Craig Bailey all of Corry, PA; mother-in-law, Ida Brasher, Farmerville, LA; sister-in-law and her husband, Judy and Bob Riser, Downsville, LA; two sisters-in-law of the late Atly and Yancy Brasher, Karen Fisher-Brasher, Coxs Creek, KY and Colleen Brasher, West Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family interment will be at Southlawn Cemetery in Aiken.
