FEMA  COVID-19 Funeral Assistance

Available April 12, 2021

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering qualified families assistance with funeral expenses incurred due to the death of a loved from COVID-19.

FEMA’s mission is to help people before, during and after disasters. By extending this assistance, they affirm their commitment to help with funeral, burial and cremation expenses that many families, like yours, did not anticipate.

Families may be eligible for up to $9,000 in FEMA’s COVID-19 Funeral Assistance for expenses incurred for funeral services and interment or cremation of a loved one who died as the result of the COVID-19 infection.

As our community becomes safer, you and your family may wish to plan a memorial service in your loved one’s honor that includes others within your circle of family and friends – something that many families find to be a meaningful experience. Those expenses may also be eligible for reimbursement.

We invite you to watch the video below and visit the FEMA website (www.fema.gov) for complete information about eligibility requirements, how to start the application process, and documentation you will be required to provide as part of your application.
