Returning the Nation's Cremated Veterans Home
Our own Walker Posey was featured in an Epoch Times story spotlighting the Missing In America Project, a national nonprofit that locates the unclaimed cremated remains of veterans and lays them to rest with full military honors. Since 2007, its volunteers have found the remains of thousands of forgotten veterans and given them the dignified farewell they earned.
As the National Funeral Directors Association's spokesman, Walker lent his perspective on why so many remains go unclaimed, from families drifting apart to the real financial weight of a funeral, and on the funeral profession's deep responsibility to locate next of kin and honor every life with care. It's a moving look at a cause close to the heart of funeral service, and a reminder that no one who served should be left behind.
