Helen Bailey Hudson

North Augusta, SC – Graveside Services for Helen Bailey Hudson, 95, who entered into the arms of her Lord on June 5, 2026, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Born September 9, 1930, in Cuthbert, GA, to the late George and Lessie Bailey. She worked for many years as a secretary for Paul Knox and later for physicians throughout the CSRA which she enjoyed. Helen lived a long life marked by deep faith, and a mischievous streak that emerged with age. She loved the Lord and lived her faith openly, spending many younger years as a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Belvedere. In her later years, she became an enthusiastic supporter of television ministries, always eager for a good sermon and a good blessing. She transitioned to St. John Towers where she loved her lunches with her friends everyday. Helen was known in her later years for her ability to keep everyone on their toes. She famously escaped from her NH more than once— in pursuit of strawberry ice cream—and she loved spending time at Amen Corner, where she could spend time with family and friends while visiting. She was an avid bargain hunter; and loved Hallmark movies! Helen could find any name brand item for next to nothing, and she took great pride in it. She loved to eat out, and the family always knew where to find her and AB whenever hunger struck—usually at one of their favorite spots, enjoying a meal and always had children and grandchildren who tagged along. Above all, Helen loved her family fiercely. She never ended a conversation without saying, “I’m praying angels around you to keep you safe, and I love you more.” Her words were a blessing she gave freely, and they remain a comfort to those she leaves behind. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hudson, and her sister, Wanda Hall. She is survived by her son, Russell Hudson; daughter, Janet Osborne (Rick); granddaughters, Ashley Wheeler, Alicia Denney, and Amanda Day; great grandchildren, Tiffany Wright, Brandon Jackson, Kirstyn Denney, Hadley Day, and Morgan Day; eight great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored her. Thank you to the staff of NHC and Caris hospice for your compassionate care in her final days. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
