North Augusta, S. C. – Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Addie Cle “Boots” Monaco, 91, who entered into rest January 29, 2022, will be conducted Friday morning at 10 o’clock at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity with Father Jacob Almeter officiating. Final Prayer and Commendations will be held at Pineview Memorial Gardens. The Rosary will be held Thursday evening at 6 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the Rosary. Boots Monaco was born on December 21, 1930 in Henderson, North Carolina to Addie Taylor and Cleatlas Crocker Taylor. She grew up in Aiken, South Carolina, where she attended St. Angela’s Academy and as a young woman briefly studied voice in Atlanta, Georgia and became an accomplished soprano skilled in coloratura. She married Philip Henry Monaco, Jr. in 1952 and moved to North Augusta, South Carolina. After her marriage, Boots was involved in the Augusta Players, starring as “Daisy Mae” in the 1962 production of Li’l Abner. Throughout her life, Boots was an active volunteer in many local organizations including the American Cancer Society, and Catholic Social Services. She became a Eucharistic Minister at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, where she was also a member of the Legion of Mary. For over thirty years, Boots hosted a Monday night prayer group in her home. Boots was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed writing poetry, knitting and crocheting, making rosaries and cooking delicious desserts and Italian dinners while being surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Henry Monaco, Jr. and a son, Alex (Robin) Monaco. Pallbearers will be Brad Monaco, Nicholas Monaco, Anthony Monaco, Sean Monaco, Mark Monaco and Joseph Monaco. Survivors include two sons, Eric Monaco (Mary Pallon), and Tim (Karen) Monaco; one daughter, Tina Monaco; all from North Augusta, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Brad (Candice) Monaco, Brittney (Jeff) Yon, Hannah Monaco, Nicholas (Melanie) Monaco, Anthony Monaco, Sean Monaco, Mark Monaco, Joseph Monaco; three great-grandchildren, Preston Yon, Emma Yon, and Miles Monaco.
