Matthew Blaine “Matt” Harley North Augusta, SC—Memorial Services for Matthew Blaine “Matt” Harley, 24, who entered into rest October 27, 2020 will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o’clock at the Grace United Methodist Church Lake Site, Modoc, SC. Mr. Bubba Barrett will officiate. The Grace United Methodist Church Lake Site entrance is located on US Hwy 28, 2.2 miles North of the US Hwy 221 intersection. Signage will be apparent marking the location. Matt was a life-long resident of North Augusta and a 2014 graduate of Fox Creek High School. He attended Anderson University and graduated from the Mary Black School of Nursing at USC Upstate with his RN, BSN. Matt worked as a trauma nurse at Augusta University Medical Center in the Emergency Room where he was dedicated to helping and serving others. He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved duck and deer hunting, fishing, playing golf and working with his duck hunting Boykin Spaniel Boone. Matt was an extremely friendly person who was known for making friends wherever he went. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle who was affectionately known as “Uncle Moose.” Matt touched many lives, and his memory will be forever cherished. Survivors include his parents, Blaine and Michelle Harley, North Augusta, SC; two sisters, Emily (Louis) Renzi, North Augusta, SC and Rebekah (Jonathan) Stearns, Graniteville, SC; paternal grandmother, Judy Kay Harley, Belvedere, SC; maternal grandmother, Maryann Orr, Augusta, GA; maternal grandfather, Gary (Pat) Messenger, Forest, VA; two nieces, Harleigh Renzi and Codie Beck Stearns; two nephews, Garrison Renzi and Sawyer Stearns; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends following the service.
