Hazel J. "Jerri" Tinkle

Hazel “Jerri” Tinkle, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, resilience, kindness, and unconditional love that will continue to live on through all who knew her. Born on May 3, 1943, in Aiken, SC she learned early in life the value of hard work and perseverance. Though her childhood was not always easy, she faced life’s challenges with determination, grace, and an unwavering spirit and a contagious laugh. Those experiences shaped her into a woman of remarkable strength, compassion, and generosity. For 45 years, she shared a loving marriage with her husband, building a life centered on family, loyalty, and service. As a proud military wife, she embraced the opportunities and challenges that came with military life, traveling to different places and creating a warm and welcoming home wherever life led them. Above all else, her greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter and a proud grandmother to her two grandsons. Nothing brought her greater joy than watching her family grow, and she was especially blessed to become a great-grandmother to six cherished great-grandchildren. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she delighted in every milestone, gathering, and opportunity to spend time together. She expressed her love through simple but meaningful acts of care. She loved cooking meals and watching cooking shows along with her collection of cookbooks. A lifelong reader, she especially enjoyed historical romance novels, with Gone with the Wind among her favorites. Through books, she traveled to distant places and different eras, always finding joy in stories of love, courage, and perseverance. Known for her selfless nature, Hazel “Jerri” Tinkle found happiness in helping others and making those around her feel valued and cared for. She had a generous heart, a strong work ethic, and a sincere desire to please others. Her kindness touched many lives, and her memory will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her. She is survived by her loving daughter, two grandsons, six great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life. “Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will remain in our hearts forever.” A visitation where her family will receive friends will be held at Posey Funeral Directors on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 12-1pm, with graveside services to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, at 2pm. The family welcomes all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her life.
