Johnnie Wise

Johnnie Wise, 77, of Trenton, SC, entered into rest, September 11, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, September 17th, at 4 o’clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Lorenzo Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 3 until 4 o’clock. Interment will be private. Johnnie was the youngest of nine children, born on July 15, 1949, in Trenton, SC, to the late Emma Coleman Wise and Perry Wise. He was baptized at Mount Enon Baptist Church in Saluda, SC, where his mother, Emma Wise, was a member. He attended school in Johnston, SC. On April 24, 1971, he married Lucinda Walker, and together they raised three wonderful children. Johnny was an automotive detailer, who took great pride in his craft. He worked for many area car dealerships throughout his career and was known for his attention to detail. Upon retiring, Johnnie was employed by Posey Funeral Directors as their fleet detailer. His hobbies included fishing, attending drag races, working on vehicles, hunting, traveling, and listening to music. His favorite song was “Green Onions” by Booker T. & the M.G.'s, recorded 1962. He especially enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to fish from his boat. Johnny will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, humble nature, his love for others, and his favorite quote, “I love you more.” In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his siblings, Pearline Settlerwhite, Marie Wise, Willie Wise, George Wise, James Wise Sr., and Barbara Ann Washington. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lucinda W. Wise; his children; Sinda Wise Williams, Anthony Jerome Wise, and Perry LaMarcus Wise; his siblings, Sophia Webb and Dorothy Washington; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Gone are the days we used to share but, in my heart, you are always there. The gates of memories will never close. I miss you more than anybody knows, love and miss you everyday, till we meet again someday.
