Larry Albert Coleman

Larry Albert Coleman, 77, of North Augusta entered into rest July 8, 2026. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday morning, July 11th, at 11 o’clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel with Mr. John Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10 until 11 o’clock. Born on August 5, 1948, Larry was the son of the late Albert Coleman and Mildred Fox Coleman. Raised in Aiken County, he made North Augusta his home for more than 55 years, where he built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and friendship. Larry was a long-time member of Belvedere First Baptist Church and, in recent years, attended Earle Church of God in New Holland, SC. His faith served as a steady foundation throughout his life. An entrepreneur with a remarkable work ethic, Larry founded and owned Coleman Auto, where he earned the trust and respect of countless customers through his honesty and dedication. He also enjoyed a successful career as a Maintenance Mechanic at Augusta Newsprint, retiring after years of faithful service. Outside of work, Larry embraced life with enthusiasm. An avid dancer, he especially loved Carolina Shag dancing and was a proud member of the CSRA Shag Club. Whether on the dance floor or simply spending time with others, his infectious personality drew people to him. Larry never met a stranger and had a unique gift for striking up a conversation with anyone. His kindness, genuine interest in others, and warm smile left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Above all, Larry was a devoted family man. He deeply loved and faithfully supported his wife, sons, and grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of his life. He was his sons' biggest fan, proudly encouraging and celebrating their accomplishments in bicycle racing, motorcycle racing, and drag car racing. Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, loyal friend, and a man whose generosity, easy-going nature, and unwavering support touched the lives of many. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he cultivated, and the countless memories he created. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 55 years, Mariann Coleman; his sons, Brian Coleman (Amy Farris) and Jeffrey Coleman (Tonya); his brother, Gerald Coleman; his sister, Jewel Pittman; his grandchildren, Evan Coleman, Lauren Coleman, Addison Coleman, and Ashton McGuinness (Cyndle); two great-grandchildren, Clayton Joseph Coleman and Koa McGuinness; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close cousins. Pallbearers will be William Fulmer, Ray Griffin, Gerald Lester, Evan Coleman, Kenny Brooks, and Jay Coleman.
