Melba H. Miner

Melba H. Miner, 94, entered into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, kindness, and love. Born on July 4, 1931, in Williston, SC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Calhoun Hair and Rena Elizabeth Porter Hair. Melba was raised in Williston before making North Augusta, SC, her home for more than 40 years. She retired from E.I. DuPont at the Savannah River Site, where she served as a secretary for many years. Following her retirement, her desire to help others led her to volunteer at University Hospital for more than 20 years, where she generously gave of her time and compassionate spirit. A woman of unwavering faith, Melba was an active and devoted member of Warren Belvedere Church. She found great joy in serving her church family and living out her faith through acts of kindness and service. Melba embraced life with enthusiasm and purpose. She was actively involved in her community and enjoyed spending time with friends through various social activities, including her membership in the Red Hat Society. Whether attending community events, volunteering, or simply sharing time with those she loved, Melba's warm smile and joyful personality made everyone feel welcome. Family and friendships were the center of Melba's life. She treasured every opportunity to gather with loved ones and maintained an active lifestyle well into her later years. Her vibrant spirit, generous heart, and genuine love for others touched countless lives. Melba will be remembered as a woman whose life reflected grace, faith, and selfless service. Her kindness, compassion, and infectious joy left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a heart big enough to make room for everyone, and she was deeply loved by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Clay Miner. Family members left to cherish her memory include a son, Benjamin “Benji” Smith (Cindy); a daughter, Suzanne Brown (Danny); a brother, Jerry Hair (Annette); her beloved granddaughters, Whitney Rogers (Casey) and Morgan Day (Russell); and six great-grandchildren, Aubrey Rogers, Adelynn Rogers, Avery Rogers, Anslee Day, Hadlee Day, and Brynlee Day. Melba’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Nuclear Care Partners and hospice for their compassionate service and care.
